Binyay: The Album That Started It All for DMT Alpy
A look back at the debut record that introduced the swamp to the world.
Before Out Tha Swamp, before Midnight Hysteria, before the bamboo staff and the alligator chain — there was Binyay.
The debut album set the tone for everything that followed. Loose, confident, unmistakably South Florida — Binyay is the record where DMT Alpy showed up as a fully formed artist, not someone still hunting for a sound. The genre lines blur on purpose: there's hip-hop, there's phonk, there's pop instinct, and underneath all of it the same #WOM swagger that's now the calling card.
Listening back, the album reads like a thesis statement. The lyrics aren't trying to convince anyone — they're stating facts. The beats don't chase trends — they live in their own weather system.
If you've never run Binyay end to end, do it. It's the door everything else walks through.
